SUCCESSFULL COMPLETION OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR TRI-FORCES OFFICERS ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND SMUGGLING AT COLOMBO

The two days programme on Human Trafficking and smuggling conducted for Tri-Forces officers from 04th July to 05th July at the Movenpick Hotel Colombo was successfully concluded.

Ms. Minoli P Don, the Head of Protection Unit - IOM has immensely contributed in initiating this Programme by collaborating with the NAHTTF.

The Officials from the IOM Sri Lanka and Maldives, Ms. Michel Bermam (Senior Project Coordinator Trafficking), Mr. Imthath (Senior Project Coordinator) Mr. Nipuna Wijesinghe (Project Coordinator Counter Trafficking) conducted the lectures.

In addition, Chief Inspector, Mr. Sugath Amarasinghe, Investigation Officer of Human Trafficking Maritime Smuggling Criminal Investigation Division conducted lectures at the programme.

On behalf of the Secretary Defence/ Chairman of NAHTTF, Maj.Gen Ruwan Kulatunga, Chief of National Intelligence attended at the certificate awarding ceremony. The Chief of National Intelligence highlighted the importance of the awareness on Human Trafficking for Tri-Forces Officers and requested to share acquired knowledge with peers/subordinates during the closing remarks.
